The Random Ramblings of Cyril Boggs Serrano

A lot of people have been asking me what my thoughts are on the election... It's been a week now, so I guess I've collected my thoughts since then.

Just to let you all know, I am neither Republican nor am I a Democrat. And contrary to popular opinion, Republicans do not equal Christians and Democrats do not equal Non-Christians.

Let me explain another thing, Bob Harpole (our evangelist) made a great point this past Sunday. God's intention is not for us to be divided amongst ourselves. All of us have our differences, whether it be race, or age, personal standpoints, political preference, etc.

Believe it or not, there are both Democrats and Republicans at my church. Some of you might be going, "Well Cy, that's weird. I thought only Republicans go to church!" No, my friend. This is not true. God loves liberals too!

This is what I was telling people before the election, and this is what I'll continue to tell people because it's still true; "God will still be God, come 2005. Nothing can change that, whether it be Bush being elected as president or Kerry being elected as president."

Now that Bush is president, a lot of people are happy (about 51% based on electoral college votes) and a lot of people are disappointed (about 49%)... I even heard a guy killed himself at Ground Zero because he was, to say the least, bummed out by the turnout.

If you're a Bush supporter or a Kerry supporter, Republican or Democrat, Conservative or Liberal, know that God is sovereign and that everything that goes down in this world, be it good or bad, happens because He lets it happen or he wants it to happen.

As for my own views politically, I'll share that with you if we talk one on one. That's a lot more enjoyable to me than trying to type out all my thoughts on the internet...

Have a good one,
Cy
